The Triple Entente, was an agreement between the Russian Empire, the French Third Republic, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland after the signing of the Anglo-Russian entente on 31 August 1907.

The Triple Alliance, was a secret agreement between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy formed on 20 May 1881 and renewed periodically until World War I.
